Central High simply cannot with Sarah Sanders
On Friday afternoon over 1,000 students staged a walk-out style protest at the school in the wake of the House passing of Sanders education bill. Students held posters and donned homemade shirts imploring Sarah to “DO BETTER.” It really is that simple, isn’t it?
Earlier in the week, over 1,000 Central High students, alumni, teachers, and parents signed a petition to unite in rejecting Sanders’ hateful agenda. The letter begins by calling out the effects of the LEARNS bill before moving into a history lesson. The students then school us on CRT’s actual meaning and begin rebutting specific sections of the bill, showing Sarah they did in fact do their homework.
The thesis of the petition gets to the heart of the matter, and gives big keep-our-name-out-of-your-mouth vibes:
“As much as she tried to desperately cling to the legacy of our historic institution, we, as students of Central High, unequivocally reject her exploitation of our school’s achievements.”
YIKES! Seems like Sarah can claim the school all she wants— they will continue to disown her. And we’re only eight weeks in.
