In a stunning display of arrogance, Dan sat down with the Black Caucus Monday morning to tell them what he, a straight white man with ample power and privilege, knows about (“reverse”) racism. His bill, SB71, in which he strikes the words “equity” and “civil rights” from multiple sections of the Arkansas Code, was the topic of discussion.

Dan’s insensitivity is nothing new, but his brazen request that the Black caucus fix discrimination for themselves drew literal gasps from the audience. This is a new low. For now.
