Genital-obsessed GOP asks “Do you have a penis?”
Today, in what might be a new low (hard to tell), Senator Matt McKee of Garland County asked an Arkansan who showed up to testify in committee the age-old question: “Do you have a penis?”
You read that right.
The Senate Judiciary Committee was debating SB199, a bill making it easier to file malpractice lawsuits against doctors who offer gender-affirming care. The bill’s sponsors are the usual suspects, the anti-trans duo of the far-right’s wet dreams, Gary Stubblefield and Mary Bentley.
In the far and recent past, they’ve worked hard for other super normal legislative efforts, like bemoaning vaccines in favor of ivermectin, and banning tiktok. Not to mention, just a few weeks ago teaming up against drag shows, only to change their tune after public pushback.
What will Gary and Mary think of next? We shudder to imagine.
